8 months ago when we signed the paperwork to put an offer on our ‘dream house’ we were full of hope and naivety that the short sale process before us was going to fly by swiftly and in an organized manner. Not sure why I didn’t really hear the many people who told us their crazy stories of short sale land. I just thought, oh ours won’t go like that.
Needless to say, we now have our own crazy story. But we’re still holding on, possibly foolishly, to the hope that one day we’ll get the keys. According to the bank it will be approximately 5-10 days, at least this is what we’ve heard consistently for 8 months.
So, why in the world are we still waiting? Here’s reason #1:
our. front. yard.
Waterfront! Need I say more? I don’t think we ever thought we’d be able to buy a place on the water and that’s not all, a mini orchard – hence the name ciderpresslane – we’re just itching to get our hands on those fruit trees!
and here’s reason #2 (they’re really the only reason)
Quite honestly whether the front yard was on the waterfront or if it backed up to I-5, our family will forever be the first and biggest reason why we just can’t wait to be in our own place. Our kids are amazing, I don’t think they’ve complained once about living out of bags, not having all of our ‘things’, living with friends, house sitting strange houses and now living in a small apartment. I really need to learn from them, to just enjoy life wherever you’re at.
But house…just you wait, we have big plans for you…BIG! And almost all of them entail having family and friends over, living this amazingly simple and extravagant life together.
